Celebrating the Double Jubilee!

On December 28, the 400th Anniversary of the death of Saint Francis de Sales, Pope Francis issued his Apostolic Letter, Totum Amoris Est ("Everything Pertains To Love"), in which the Holy Father reminds us that the spirit of Charity cultivated by Saint Francis de Sales is now entrusted to us.

The 2022 Double Salesian Jubilee may be seen as having three practical pillars:

  1. Increase knowledge and love of Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane Frances de Chantal

  2. Encourage imploring their intercession

  3. Imitate their virtues and devotion

We pray for a blessed and fruitful school year for all students, faculty, staff, and administrators of our affiliate schools! May the Holy Spirit guide you!

On June 19, 2022, Gesu Roman Catholic Parish, Toledo, Ohio, an Oblate parish, held a Double Salesian Jubilee Mass and dinner reception in honor of St. Francis DeSales and St. Jane DeChantal. Oblates of the TD Province celebrated with the people they have served for over 70 years in Toledo, OH, and SE Michigan. The celebration began with mass on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. During the mass, after the homily, the Oblates gathered at the front of the sanctuary and renewed vows publicly for the congregation. The Sisters of the Toledo Visitation joined the event as well!

It was a wonderful celebration. Between 600 and 700 people attended the liturgy and over 400 joined the Oblates at the reception. The comments from those attending were complimentary and filled with gratitude for the presence of the Oblates in their schools and parishes.

Thank you to all those who organized and attended this beautiful event.
