Where did you first encounter the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales?
I met the Oblates by way of a family member who was an Oblate, Father Bernard Rigney.

What experience of the Oblates led you to join the community?
When I was in high school Father John Birkenheuer wrote the word “altior” in my yearbook. He told me it was intended as a reminder to always push myself go go higher. I feel the Oblates are where I can accept that challenge best.

In your experience, what makes the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales distinct?
Being real, down to earth people.

In ten words or less, how would you sum up Salesian spirituality?
Use your talents well.

Why should someone consider becoming an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales today?
The Oblates are a great place to continue “to grow higher” every day.

Who is your favorite historical figure? Why do you admire him/her?
Jesus - he continues to make a difference today.

What are some of your interests/hobbies?
Getting books that it seems I’ll never have a chance to read.
